Some Stats

Just 6 Walmart heirs have as much wealth as 30% of Americans. That works out to about six people having the wealth of 90 million people in the US.

According to government statistics, if the same number of people were seeking work today as in 2007, the jobless rate would be 11 per cent.

Every five hours a child dies from abuse or neglect in the US.

1 in 31 U.S. Adults are Behind Bars, on Parole or Probation.

In 2010 - the latest year for which detailed statistics are available - there were 12,996 murders in the US. Of those, 8,775 were caused by firearms.
