Spam Spam Spam

Does anyone know how to stop comments to particular posts? My post The Dying Americans continues to get several comments for escorts in Dubai every single day (I've already deleted hundreds of comments), even though I've turned on verification and require login. I don't want to delete the post of shut down all comments completely, but I don't know what else to do.

It also reminds me I need to get going on setting up this blog on its own platform.

  1. I'm afraid I don't know of any solutions for blogspot but the https://akismet.com/ plugin works great on a Wordpress platform .

  2. Wordpress is supposed to be a "superior" blogging platform. Blogger/Blogspot is for dumb shits like us who would not be able to do a blog at all without them, trust me, I've tried. Until Blogger/Blogspot came along, I don't think I even got something that said, "Hello, world".

  3. When you compose your next entry, see if there is an option to disallow comments on that entry alone. I know there is an option to enable comment moderation on some entries and not others, so disallowing comments might also be possible on selected entries. If that capability exists, then turn that entry into a draft, select that option, put the original date and time on it, and post. Oh, yeah, and cross your fingers, too.

    1. By "that entry," I mean the one you're having spam issues on, not the next entry you compose.
